
A press briefing was organised at Cyprus Community Media Centre, Ledra Palace at 15:00 on Thursday 24 February 2011 marking the launch of a public consultation on the recommendations arising from research into the right of access to information in Cyprus.
At the briefing event, attended by journalists from both sides of the island, the Open Cyprus Project partners released the results of the monitoring of public authority websites as well as the answers to 393 information requests submitted to 20 public authorities in Cyprus.
The draft report for public consultation also includes the findings of the opinion survey on transparency involving 1000 persons and interviews with 20 CSO representatives working on different issues across Cyprus as well as a comprehensive analysis of the current legal framework for the right to information in both the Republic of Cyprus and the northern part of Cyprus.
